Legal Representation for Refugee Claims and Protection Applications

Canada is internationally recognized for its commitment to protecting individuals fleeing persecution, violence, or risk of harm in their home country. If you fear returning to your country due to serious threats to your life, freedom, or safety, you may be eligible to make a Refugee Claim or apply for protection under Canada’s refugee and humanitarian programs.

We provide trusted legal support and advocacy to help vulnerable individuals access Canada’s refugee protection system and secure their right to remain in safety.

Who Can Make a Refugee Claim in Canada?

You may be eligible to claim refugee protection in Canada if:

  • You are already inside Canada and not subject to a removal order
  • You fear persecution in your home country based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group (such as gender identity, sexual orientation, or survivors of domestic violence).
  • You are at risk of torture, cruel or unusual treatment or punishment, or death if returned to your country

Refugee protection claims are assessed by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB)—an independent tribunal that determines whether your claim meets the legal definitions under the IRPA.
